Hanns and Axel Schickling, the German inventors of TowFLEXX, formally known as SchleppMAXXE® and TugMAXX® spent more than two decades flying. They became frustrated with the amount of time and effort it generally takes to prepare for flying, the huge amount of time wasted, and the physical strain required to get an aircraft in and out of a hangar.
They knew there had to be a simpler, smarter, more efficient way to do it,... so the Schickling's began to design a few prototypes of innovative electric aircraft tugs. As with any invention — it’s rarely perfect the first time. So Hanns and Axel spent several years fine-tuning what was to become the TowFLEXX®, using these tugs for their own hangar and many airports in Europe, getting valuable feedback from others in the aviation industry.
The end result was a patented design that speeds up the job and cuts physical efforts — the SchleppMAXXE® was launched — the world’s best and most advanced light aircraft tug. Since then industry feedback has been extremely positive and SchleppMAXXE® sold by the thousands, first in Germany followed by other markets.
A few years later the product line was broadened and the company started to launch it's highly innovative remote controlled aircraft tugs. In 2015 the product line was introduced to the American market and became later a US-based company named TowFLEXX Inc.
